Free custom cupboard and wardrobe design, with the real cost attached
Interior Studio is a free interior design tool for India. You draw a custom cupboard,
wardrobe, modular kitchen or TV unit in 3D and it returns a carpenter's cutting list and
an itemised bill of quantities — every board part with its finished size, every metre of
edge banding, every hinge and rail, and the number of 2440 × 1220 mm sheets the design
actually consumes. There is no account, no email capture and no sales call.
It is a costing instrument, not a drawing tool
Most free cupboard design software renders a picture and then asks for your phone number
to tell you the price. Here the arithmetic is the product. Change a wardrobe from 1800 mm
to 1830 mm and the sheet count may change, and you will be told so. Switch the plywood
from commercial MR to BWP marine grade and the total moves, with the old and the new
figure side by side. Every rate is yours to set, so the number is comparable with a
quotation you have been given rather than with a national average.
What it can build
Around thirty object types share one scene, one cutting list and one quotation: cupboards
and wardrobes, modular kitchens and crockery units, beds, TV units, shoe cabinets,
dressing tables, study and computer tables, chairs, doors and sliding doors, mirrors,
walls, and lighting. Objects decompose into the parts a joiner would actually buy — a
wall is bricks, mortar, plaster, putty, primer and paint, each with its own thickness and
rate, not a solid rectangle.
Guides for anyone about to spend money
These pages are plain HTML and need no JavaScript. They answer the questions people ask
before buying — including whether cheap cupboards are a false economy and what actually
separates the best cupboards from the rest.
Using the configurator
The design tool itself needs JavaScript and WebGL, because it renders in 3D. If you are
reading this, scripting is switched off — enable it and reload, or read the guides above,
which contain the same reasoning in a form that needs nothing but a browser. Custom
interior work is expensive and largely opaque, and the quantities are the part you can
actually check.
